Terra Klay is partnering with Himalayan Naari to bring their traditional woolen crafts to wider audience from three remote villages tucked into the Indian Himalayan mountains.
Through this regeneration of knitting and weaving practices, over 100 women artisans are improving their lives and strengthening local communities while creating a sustainable global business.
It takes three days of careful work to delicately hand weave a scarf by an individual artisan. These angora and woolen hand spun and hand weaved scarves are unique, high quality items inspired by the traditions and aesthetics of the Himalayan landscape.
I met Dr.Kathleen Bollerud founder and director of Himalayan Naari, early last year to understand how I could help her in marketing. Our mutual love to strengthen the artisan communities forged a friendship of respect and admiration.
